Yes, the VPN will make all your traffic originate from a particular IP or region. Most VPN providers offer a desktop or mobile app to configure what region you want to use.
I hate to tell you but if you have location services turned on it still scans the wifi networks/Bluetooth devices around you to help get your location even if you don’t connect!
Which they usually do for all the common von services.
Another option is to get a dedicated ip address with the von service
I am one of the guys that manages this. We have a subscription service that updates my internal database with VPN server IPs explicitly so we can block people from connecting to them from the company network. In your case, it’s the other direction but these lists are updated frequently.
Your saving grace might be that the lists cannot be used to compare against source connections but depending on how big your company is, there might be a team that handles that.
black list of IPs for all VPN servers
I wonder if there are any services that keep an up-to-date list of this type… /s
You could rent space in a collocation facility drop your router there and tunnel into it from wherever you are.
You could also pay for a static IP that’s hopefully not on any lists.
Obviously you’re missing some understanding on vpn’s. It has to connect to something. Nord vpn hosts a service but you need software to connect to it. Routers don’t work that way. Go lookup IPsec tunnels you’ll figure it out
mm the ips are likely still on blocklists
Don’t use a public vpn that’s stupid. VPN ip addresses are known. They will know you are connected via a public vpn.
I’ve done this with the GLI.NET routers and have got caught the very next day and lost my contract.
It works for me with Surfshark - I had issues with nord and cancelled it. You have to be mindful to turn it on And off and it has way many locations. If you want me to check a specific one you can message. I can’t speak for all companies - just the one I used.
I did it through my second laptop. Can’t recall if my phone worked for it.
Ah ok. Because some people say they live in state X but actually live in state Y
Totes, read they’re wiki
Might be helpful but still associated to a VPN vendor.
For the average non-tech-savvy person, I’d recommend just buying a 2nd router (not like they’re all that expensive, such hardship /s) and only connecting that computer to it.
For a tech-savvy person, I wouldn’t even need to make recommendations. They know how to configure custom routes for their pfsense box.
I think most android phones… check YouTube for a tutorial
I don’t know how but just relatively recently I discovered that my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S can do that
oh I misunderstood it. yeah what you said is good
Any VPN mobile app you recommend for this?
