Proton , should I do it?

But then your traffic is not mixed with other VPN users right?

I am not, I am noob on those field

Yeah, I know. But who made those table, it is obvious that most reviewed VPN on youtube get the best score. And per table Nord is more secured, better encryption than Proton. cmon.

Proton also has the best deal for mail, vpn and 500 gb space

They do give good deals to bait people in. Once your 28 months are over, they will charge you 100$ per year and they haven’t even clearly mentioned that. Also Nord was hacked once and they didn’t even come out in public until after a year. Also people on deep web sell nord accounts, now guess where do they get these credentials from. And the android app has trackers

You should choose the best VPN for your region. My personal experience with Proton CS and Proton in general is trash.
It’s functionally the same as every other VPN. Without a private IP (which some services do offer) you’ll still get excessive Captchas or flagged for bot activity.
If you want to feel more “secure/private” with severely reduced speeds (Secure Core + Tor) or need legal protection from frankly a lack of business ethics, they are the ONLY reasons to choose Proton.
For average users, self hosting (AWS Lightsail + PiVPN), Surfshark, Nord, etc. will likely outperform and cost less if your specific region is well supported.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention simplelogin. It’s so useful if you like trying new services and don’t want to give out your personal email address.

This is something I discovered on accident. Been a Proton subscriber for a while, but never knew about it. Stumbled onto it while trying out different email aliasing services with Vaultwarden, and was pleasantly surprised when SimpleLogin asked for login through Proton.

Yeah $24 for a lifetime subscription you really can’t beat that. I’ve used Windscribe & have been satisfied with the service for sure. Speeds are fine (obviously this depends on what server/location you’re connected to & where you’re connecting from) they’ve got a really good Ad/Tracker/Malware blocker amongst other things that works really well, I’ve personally tested it & it’s blocked just about everything I’ve thrown at it in my testing. Their pricing is fair even without the deal you’ve mentioned & I really like the fact that they have a “build your own” plan for people who may only be interested in using locations in a specific region, or other various reasons. You can get an unlimited subscription for as low as $3 per month, $1 for one-region, $1 for the Ad/Tracker/etc blocker, & $1 for unlimited data for a total of $3 is a steal as well, & you can add more to it, all up to whoever’s building the plan… Although they’re actually based in Canada… So technically 5 eyes but it’s all the same I guess…

As far as comparing to ProtonVPN, from my experience they’re fairly similar in terms of the VPN, they both have Ad/Tracker/Malware blockers, Windscribe named theirs R.O.B.E.R.T & ProtonVPN calls theirs NetShield, They both support multiple protocols (OpenVPN UDP/TCP, IKEv2, Wireguard & Stealth) depending on which OS you’re running it on, those are all supported on iOS & Android for both Proton & Windscribe. I’ve gotten similar speeds using both services, Overall they’re pretty similar & both great VPNs IMO.

One difference between the two is where they’re based out of, Windscribe is based in Canada, & Proton is based in Switzerland, & I suppose the biggest difference of the two is that Windscribe is just a VPN, where Proton offers multiple services, if you get the Premium Bundle package you’ll not only get ProtonVPN, but you’ll also have full premium access to ProtonMail, Proton Calendar, & Proton Drive, all of which are privacy based, secure & encrypted services. I have not bothered to try Proton Calendar or Proton Drive yet but more than likely will at some point. These are also included in the free version but they’re limited, which is understandable. Oh, & you also get a premium membership to SimpleLogin (typically $30 per year alone) with Protons premium bundle package as well, so that would include unlimited email aliases along with everything else Proton has to offer, SimpleLogin is a great add-on & a great service to have in general. The free version of Proton comes with it as well, but it’s also limited to just 10 free aliases. Also very good for a free plan.

If you compare both Premium versions side by side for a new user, or just someone who doesn’t have a lifetime membership already, Proton Premium is $11.99 with everything listed above, where as Windscribe Premium is $8.99 for just their VPN, as they don’t have any of the other services Proton has. They’re both solid deals really, but for just a few extra dollars you do get much more with Proton.

Windscribe has been good. Never heard anything bad about them and the CEO seems to be a nice person. It’s based in US, so 14 eyes but then again, your use case is not that critical and 24$ for a lifetime account, can’t beat that for a casual use.

Keep using it until it goes to shit.

Which is my point. I trust Proton. That is the most important feature for me.
The fact that the vpn is good makes it a win.

This small difference likely is related to MTU size. The default is pretty low which makes it work in basically every network but you can increase it slightly. This will lower the overhead and will increase speeds a tiny bit.

But if the Free servers are already fast enough you won’t have issues with the Plus ones. They are easily pushing more than 300Mbit/s.

Previously I used Surfshark, and there was same issue.

Constantly pages are asking me to complete form , that I am human not robot.

Used both before, connection is unstable and got slower after first month of use. Another thing is proton is built around privacy, they have a suite for your needs and has built a good reputation.

Nord was always a pain in my ass with bad SOCKS support, and no split tunnelling.

Because the app is not buggy and it’s been a flawless experience for me personally.

Diy means you are in full control of your own VPN server. No one else can use it, but you and you alone.

Just learn how to do things. You’ll be surprised what you are actually capable of doing by yourself. You got this.

I don’t know, I found it on r/vpnreviews

How to check which one is the best for my region ? thanks

I have a different email address for all my accounts man. Legit have hundreds. If my login gets leaked they really can’t find my login for other accounts because my email is completely different each time.
