Trying to get Starlink to work with my expressvpn router. Realized to late that this might not work. Now I have a Starlink that I cannot use.
I cannot get internet connection when I connect to my Linksys router with Expressvpn installed. this is with Starlink router in bypass mode.
Any Help Please?
I can’t think of a reason why it would not work, others are using similar VPN devices
I use a VPN on my router with Starlink. It chimps the bandwidth down but it does work. I use a Synology router with OpenVPN to Pure.
Not sure, but I also have issues with CiscoVPN Anyconnect and Starlink.
It connects, but it won’t allow me to use the internet after I connect.
Works just fine on my backup ISP.

What ip address range is your added router attempting to use?
Is your added router configured to look for a dhcp-given address thru it’s wan port?
Did you check your cable?
Did you try hooking up just one laptop or desktop computer to the Starlink ethernet port?
Does your added router work if you use a different provider?
Thanks for all the info. Removed the starlink bypass and everything seems to work fine now. I just thought you had to bypass to use 3rd party router.
Now, is there a way to turn of starlink wifi?
Yeap until IP6 rollout it will be hard to bypass SL GNAT…
Use your openwrt enabled router for SL QOS )
I’ve not tried it. Why don’t you see if it works?
what is a expressvpn router ? sounds like a morning coffee
Client to VPN server works fine with any VPN I am ware off.
Using starlink as a VPN server works also - but requires extra stuff and limited to certain VPN configurations.
I use remote.it on an openWRT router and connect right to it. It can share any port, direct or proxy.
I have 9 wireguard interfaces, one zerotier, and had a few IPSec interfaces before transitioning them to wireguard, and it’s never been a problem as long as one side of the connection isn’t natted.
Cannot set up Static VPN in Expressvpn router. Which is needed if bypassing Starlink router?
This describes my situation also. But once I took Starlink router out of Bypass mode, it seems to work ok.
I am using an Asus mesh router with NordVPN without a problem. Can still contact the Starlink statistics without a static route.
Tried no luck, which is why I am asking if someone has a fix.
expressvpn router - Is when you put the VPN inside the router. So anything plugged into that router, is automatically connected to the vpn.
Then don’t bypass SL router
It will probably work in bypass mode as well, I’m using surfshark over wireguard on a bypassed starlink router. The surfshark interface is directly on my router.
I cannot get internet connection when I connect to my Linksys router with Expressvpn installed. This is with Starlink router in bypass mode.
I’ve been using a VPN strictly everyday. It goes to a DC I’m renting. Never had issues. Switched to wire guard from OpenVPN this Christmas
