Is it fine if I turn it off?
I sold my soul to Google in 2001, so sure I use their VPN too
When I’m on public open wifi I’ll use either the fi VPN or the google one VPN. Otherwise no.
I don’t unless im on public wifi, which is almost never
I dont because it drains my battery
TIL That google Fi has an included VPN.
It buggers wireless Android auto unfortunately.
I use it and the Google 1 VPN and I have a subscription to Nord VPN.
There’s an odd glitch that supposedly mutes your audio and sometimes you just can’t get it back. I’m avoiding for the time being
Yes. I was under the impression it allows smoother transitions when switching between networks.
I feel like speed is a little slower with it on though, at least according to the random tests I do on speedtest.net.
I’m suspicious that it’s just another ruse by Google to prevent ad-blocking
It’s wierd that sometimes my vpn icon is not present until my finger hovers over the button. The icon literally appears when my finger is over the icon.
I use it but have to turn it off when using my Lottery app to purchase tickets. With it on I can’t buy tickets.
I just use VPN for watching YouTube or other streaming service since it bypass carriers resolution limit. Mines 480p but I can do 4k with VPN
i use a different vpn so no
Only when I have to…shit drains the soul out of my battery
No, I use NetGuard. --USE THE GITHUB VERSION.
Yeah but it rarely works
I did before I got the Google one VPN
Most of the time I keep it off. When I was at an airbnb for vacation I kept it on though.
Most of the benefits of a VPN aren’t all that important to your average user anyway. Any site you visit that’s HTTPS is going to have it’s traffic encrypted, any kind of payment to a reputable site will be too. So unless you need to get around geofencing or don’t want whoever owns the router or your isp to see what sites you visit you’re not really getting much.
