Is anyone else having issues with using Cloudflare DNS on mobile devices to access YouTube/YouTube TV? If I switch to Google DNS everything works again.
It’s happening on iOS and my Android tablet, as well as Apple TV. Using the desktop Chrome browser works though. Very odd
I’m seeing something similar. Desktop Chrome doesn’t work and android/TV devices do work.
I’m using a pihole with cloudflare upstream and can see SERVFAIL responses from youtube on my desktop device. Any time traffic is sent to: rr*—sn-bvvbax4pcxg-hjp6.googlevideo.com
it bombs. Issue is resolved once switching to google DNS. Looks like this started happening today.
I hesitated to respond to this thread because I don’t know that it’s exactly the same as your issue. Did this just start happening today as well?

Same story for me, had about the same time of onset, and it’s still ongoing. Inspector also shows inability to contact some googlevideo host. 8.8.8.8 also fixes. What gives?
Will monitor please keep updating need to test myself
I did experience this past 24hrs. By luck, I changed the DNS settings on my phone and it started working, and then found this thread.
SAME HERE. YouTube TV and YouTube both not working if I have Cloudflare as my DNS. Switched to Google and everything works again. Took a long time to figure out, then I found this thread.
Yes, had Cloudflare DNS set in router. It killed YouTube Music on anything connected to WIFI and also Ethernet Windows machine. Changed to Open DNS and everything is good (for now).
Why not 1.1.1.1 not working
Yea not sure if it is the same issue but sounds similar. Mine started happening yesterday afternoon
While Ray Mears or Chris Bonnington exists It’s okay because it gives me a headache, don’t know if that’s anecdotal or really happening.
