What’s NordLynxTelio

Been using NordVPN on my Mac for the past year fine, no real problems.

When i started it up today it wanted my password to allow nordlynxtelio, curious as to what that is exactly. Usually there’s a password for nordlynx in general but this is the first time seeing the telio, also saw that it was trying to connect to the internet with the Lulu app.

Guessing they changed the name of it and that’s it? Might be some sort of Nordlynx protocol rename or upgrade?

Just happened to me too, and your post is the only thing I’ve found mentioning NordLynxTelio. Please post when you get a response from Nord. Thx!

Still unresolved? Keep getting this on boot and need to reboot every other time i boot my system.

nordlynxtelio

I recently had this same issue. And a day later discovered Nord was leaking my IP again for the fourth time in less than a year.

Got this from the NordVPN Chat service. They did not give any details on what Telio is. They just confirmed it is part of the NordVPNapp. Need to approve 3 times to make the popup go away (at least on my Mac).

Chat:

Nord: If you are locked on the keychain pop-up, the solution would be to enter your Mac user password and select Always Allow. Do it up to 3 times if the pop-up reappears.

Me: OK. So Telio is definitely part of the NorVPN system? Can you tell me what Telio is?

Nord: Yes, this is a part of our app.

This started happening to me a couple days ago. Years ago, I used the paid app Little Snitch to monitor outgoing traffic… when installed apps call home. Recently, I’ve heard good things about Lulu, an open source alternative. If NordVPN’s recent activity bothers you, you might check out Lulu or an alternative.

Telio is a new “upgrade” to the NordLynx protocol (confirmed by Nord customer support).

Has anyone else checked how the vpn download speeds have been affected ?

I just got an actual kernel panic on NordLynxTelio. Not cool…

I get a “Telio EXception” error 15 times a day. And NordVPN keeps disconnecting. Background process stops running.

TEST your “new” features before implementing them in an app that work(ed) perfectly well before… I can’t f@$%cking use NordVPN for days as I can’t trust it to keep running non stop.

On Manjaro/AUR/Testing this came out today and FINALLY fixed my Telio errors:

1 aur/nordvpn-cli-bin 3.14.2-2 → 3.15.0-2

Could be, can’t find it mentioned anywhere on their website, Reddit, or even google in general. If it was just something as you say it would have been nice if they mentioned it ya know.

Sent them an email so I’ll have to see what they say about it

How can we check this ourselves?

Just took me five times.
