I know there are so many receipt apps out there nowadays. Curious what apps you find you go to all the time and the ones you started out strong with but gave up on? What made you lose interest?
Amazon Shopper Panel is the best and easiest. Fetch is great. Others have gone downhill.
Receipt Pal will erase all of your points if you don’t constantly keep it installed and consistently upload. That was annoying to me.
Mostly I do Fetch now. Ibotta was great at first, but I was rarely buying the name brands they were offering points on. Their offer of generic items would come and go, and they limit some offers only to to one or two stores. Also, their payout was high, considering how little I was using them.
I didn’t care for ibotta. I know it’s popular but just never got into the set up. Fetch rewards for me is just the easiest and something I can remember to do within 2 weeks and do occasional bonuses/referrals.
I stopped using almost all of the ones that only accepted any receipt like ReceiptPal, ReceiptHog, etc. They’re not necessarily bad, but the payment was low and I’d rather just do surveys. Anything under $0.10/receipt I choose not to use.
Coinout
They seems pretty good, earn .01-.10 a receipt but then it got sketchier and sketchier asking for my email address etc. To the point I just quit using it.
update. hmmm open the app, still looking shady but gonna try and cash out.
I rarely use ibotta or check51 due to difficulty finding items that I buy. I wish they had more any items to scan. It’s too item and sometimes even store restrictive. My favorite 2 are fetch and Amazon shopper. But I do use receipt pal, receipt hog, coin out, receipt jar, pogo, shopkick, swagbucks, coupon.com, tada, ncp, and CheckPoints. CheckPoints is frustrating because it’s always glitchy so, I have to email them every single time I use the app to receive my points. They always respond and add points to my account which is the only reason I continue using app. Ncp is time consuming to scan every item when I purchase alot of items. I wish they would just have you scan receipt like all the other apps do. I use all of them because even though it’s only a few cent per receipt, it adds up over time. And in a year if I add everything up I will have a $100 or more dollars that I didn’t have just for taking a few seconds to scan a receipt.
Also, I recently started using brand club based on a recommendation from beermoney. In 2 weeks I have earned $8, need $10 to cash out. This app is great if you buy certain brands on a regular basis online. I use it to buy household supplies and toiletries.
Ibotta and Fetch are probably the best. ReceiptHog, ReceiptPal, and any others that effectively offer a fraction of a cent to upload, not worth my time or data.
CoinOut! The way they wanted to connect my email was super sketchy. They made it that you can’t cash out unless you connect your email, so I got my last little bit out and then deleted the app. I also don’t like CheckOut51, there are barely any offers and a lot of retailer-specific. I’ve had $6 dollars sitting on that app for literal years. I’m just hoping maybe someday I can get that $10 so I can cash out and delete the app lol. Makeena also is not so great. They have a lot of organic/all-natural brands I buy, but their app is really buggy. Also some stuff they stop giving cash back and only give “points” which are useless.
Its seems crazy to me that nobody uses Ibotta. You can always check the item in store to make sure its the right item. Also the amount of BOGO items they have is awesome and they offer many great bonuses. If you purchase bottles of alcohol, ibotta has great rebates on many diffferent bottles. In about 4 years I am super close to being over $1000 made. I also use Receipt pal, receipt hog which dont pay great but i am between $60 and $100 in a couple years. Fetch is getting better and better it seems with bigger rewards lately. Still waiting for at least 5 months to be accepted for amazon shopper panel. If anyone has any tricks to be selected please let me know.
I used to love iBotta, it gave me a chance to try stuff I wouldn’t normally buy, but with everything being so expensive lately, I hardly use it anymore. There’s very few offers on there that apply to what I would normally buy, and it takes so long for me to reach the $20 cash out threshold. I’ll still check it from time to time, but I forget about it most of the time.
I do use Fetch, CoinOut, Receipt Pal, Receipt Hog, & scan my receipts in InboxDollars.
I tried Checkpoints, but it never seems to work with any receipts anymore, so I gave up on that one pretty quick. Also took about a month for me to get gift cards I had redeemed through it. I honestly thought I was never going to get them and was surprised when they finally showed up in my email.
I only use Fetch. I tried Ibotta but didn’t care for it. I feel like Fetch has gotten a little stingy with the points lately so I’m not as on it as I used to be, but if I have a receipt I’ll scan it.
lately, shopkick. they seem to have this ‘error’ issue every time you try and redeem for a gift card.
and according to their socials (fb mostly) this has been an issue for well over a year. so i just uninstalled them.
unrelated but similar business, is qmee. they have gone through the route of forcing users to cash out to paypal before being able to redeem a gift card. so sort of dumb there. also, the prompt to refresh your paypal email is broken on qmee as well. and yeah, it’s a verified account. been so for years.
so i tanked both. the other aformentioned (coinout) app is also sketch because of the phising risked email connect feature.
Dabbl but they removed the feature of scanning receipts and only kept surveys…the surveys didn’t even give that many points so I just deleted it
I’m on the verge of dropping Checkout 51 and Shopkick. I’ve had them for years and really the former was mostly contest entries (which went away) and neither of them have had more than once in a blue moon cashback for the products I buy.
The best for me is Amazon Shopper Panel (easy and solid payout) and Pogo (low effort) but I still do CoinOut, Fetch, ReceiptPal, Coupons.com (used to be great for me but not as many offers for what I buy lately), Ibotta, Receipt Hog, CheckPoints (pretty low pay and slow though), Tada and ReceiptJar.
Receipt hog and shopkick cause they really dont matter much. Like I rather have freebies once in a while like ibotta or fetch than having a $5/year lol.
I gave up on all the ones that target specific products. I don’t leave the house much and now that I’m back in retail I’m so tired at the end of the day that I honestly want anything but to comb through receipt apps for items to buy and rebate with.
I want the fuck out of the store lol.
But I mean you have plenty of power users making bank on that so, hey whatever works for you!
I don’t use any apps that require me to add offers, I just want to scan and be done with it. Amazon Shopper Panel is my favorite, it’s only $10 a month but very easy
I liked fetch until they banned me when I redeemed my points for a $50 gc. I didn’t use it very often so it took me like over a year to save that much and they wouldn’t tell me why I was banned. I’m trying to find another receipt app that’s easy like Fetch, I don’t like having to add offers manually like on ibotta.
