What is ExpressVPN and do i need it?

I have an hp laptop (windows 11) and i noticed today that ExpressVPN is installed and running almost all the time…

  1. what is this
  2. do i need it?
  3. what happens if i uninstall it?

(i don’t think i installed this, i didn’t know if it came with the computer?)

i don’t know ANYTHING about computers and i just don’t want to break my laptop by guessing :joy::thinking:
