I’m currently looking at PIA because of the cheap rates and I’ve tried it before when I was living abroad. I also know that it’s not advisable to use a VPN for gaming but there are disconnection problems with SKY and Blizzard games(namely Overwatch and Diablo3) and people are saying to use a vpn. What do you guys think?
If you are looking for the best VPN service then you should try Express VPN and not go for cheap VPN services.
I use mudfish vpn 3$ per 3GB usage. Tas by application yung tunneling ng network. Kung overwatch lang naka on, yun lang ung affected
change away from sky, they use some terrible methods some sort of squid proxy server. The speed they offer is a lie
Mudfish? Currently using it for mmos
Fellow Sky subscriber here (QC area) and I’m also having the disconnection issues in Overwatch. Got suspended three times for disconnecting during ranked matches. Pingzapper helps—no more game server disconnection issues unless the connection itself gets cut (via blackout or ISP issues). I haven’t been contacted by Blizzard about using it and I don’t know anyone who has so I think they’re fine with it.
Don’t do it. Your account can be banned if Blizzard finds out about the VPN. It’s against their EULA.
To lower ping, perhaps a GPN might also be considered.
Are you going to use a VPN for lag or latency issues?
Just use WTFast for both VPN and latency needs. Its FREE. If you want improved latency also try to google up Leatrix Latency Fix.
I have PIA for things other than gaming. Like someone else mentioned, you’ll get banned from some games /companies for using a VPN. For games you don’t get banned from, it still gives noticeable lag. I still play a lot of warcraft 3 on private servers and have accidentally left PIA on and it’s lag city.
I’ve only used VPNs on netflix recently. How can that help with games?
Glad I’m not the only having this problem. From what I experienced the SKY problem is area-based. My officemate has the new plan from SKY and he never experiences dcs that we have.
Just making sure this is the problem when Overwatch just doesn’t let you in the game right?
EDIT: Officemate. Not the office. Man I wish I could play the game in my office. HAHAHA
I have used Lowerping during my WoW days. I can attest to the improvement on the lag (From 449ms to 120ms). Not sure if they do same service to Overwatch.
I heard many good things with VYPRVPN.
You may want to check the vyprvpn.
I was planning on doing that as well. Thank you though!
Speaking of Netflix, I tried paying Netflix through VPN in Aussie dollars. It went through! For some reason, I wasn’t billed that month. Maybe dahil hinde naman talaga Aussie-issued CC gamit ko. I tried again this month. I was billed na in Aussie dollars, PhP40+ cheaper upon conversion.
Have you used it for gaming before?
How’s the experience in-game?
/u/BossGi, I would also recommend this one
they “officially support” Overwatch, and Diablo 3 too
not sure about 3$ per 3gb, cause wiki states 135 won (korea) per 1 gigabyte
with a minimum of 1dollar/month
