if I use my laptop exclusively via hotspot with my cell phone and my iPhone has a VPN active, I don’t need to set up a VPN on my laptop, do I?
TLDR version is the answer is no. The VPN on your phone will only hide the traffic coming directly from your phone. Even if you have another device connected via hotspot, the second device will not be protected through your VPN. You’ll need to establish a separate direct VPN connection using your laptop.
