Thinking about getting NordVPN with one of those YouTuber Codes but have a question about payment

So I’ve been thinking about getting a VPN for a long while now and decided to use nordVPN. I have a coupon code from a YouTube channel I usually watch and like their content. It’s a 3 year plan + a month free for 2.99 per month.

The problem is when I go to check out it says the bill is $107.55 and not just $2.99 monthly for 3 years.

I can handle $2.99 but I can’t handle 107.55 up front like that. I thought I would be able to do a monthly subscription on a 3 year plan or is that not possible and I have to fork up the $107 up front?

No they charge the whole amount. I just renewed and was charged the full amount for three years. I doubt the offers are going away anytime soon, so maybe try and save up and use the free trial.

these deals are usually paid up front, because they won’t give you this kind of deal and then risk that after one year you change your mind.

The 2.99 a month comes to the overall price it’s asking for, they reduce the monthly so people are more likely to pay the full sum up front.

You will be charged for the entire amount upfront. I might get downvoted to hell for posting this on the NordVPN subreddit but I don’t recommend them at all anymore. Since they have become more “mainstream” I think the quality of their service has dropped. I would recommend looking elsewhere personally.

It also binds you in for however many years, whereas with a monthly you could cancel at any point

Could you elaborate? Are the speeds worse than before, is the app buggy, do you get blocked on streaming sites, etc?

where are you from, most banks let you divide payment of purchases more than 100usd for a small interest fee

I’ve had worse performance overall. Speed is hit and miss at the best of times. I’ve tried 2 other services since and both have been better.
