Take a bow Rupert Friend

Rewatching show these days. I was reminded what an expert performance Rupert Friend had delivered in this show. Especially Season 6. He was grand.

He was sooooo good in season 2. The first episode of season 3 too, the embassy assassination. Badass.

I’m watching season 6 now and his performance is mind blowing, he’s an underrated actor

I loved Rupert’s performance in season 2-3-4-5-6, but I hated what they did to Quinn in the show’s sixth year.

To this day I don’t understand why Rupert and Mandy didn’t win an Emmy for their performances in Homeland.

He completely deserved better as a character. I know it wouldn’t have made sense from a writers or even general fan perspective but I wish he had forgotten Carrie, found love, and moved forward in life :joy:

He saved the show. Carrie has a lot to unpack and Clare Danes does great stuff with Quinn acting as support/foil made the show more enjoyable. And the shenanigans he gets up to is IMHO a lot more interesting to me than the empty promises/manipulation Carrie strong arms people with.

Quinn to Estes in Season 2: “Nothing happens to Brody. Or you’ll find me back in this room one night. Right back in that chair. 'Cause I’m a guy that kills bad guys.” Badass indeed.

I’m sure he must have been working as an actor for awhile, but I was never aware of him until Homeland … and then we gradually learned Peter Quinn’s back story with Dar Adal and saw what a loner he was and how ALONE he was. He just really pulls on your heartstrings.

Where are you watching Homeland? They just switched it literally a few days ago from Showtime to Hulu. The only reason I had Showtime was because of Homeland, which I was re-watching for about the third time… So now it’s either sign up for Hulu or, more likely, buy the boxed set on DVD - because I KNOW I’m going to watch it all over again!

Agreed. Undeniably one of the best performances on TV.

I was just thinking I wish he and Astrid would’ve just been together. She really loved him.

Soon as he showed up he stole the show.

Love his small talk with Carrie:

‘You were fuckin him, huh?’

And when he called out Brody for his lies:

‘So he missed?’ The best shot in the unit?’

I first saw Rupert in the movie Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley. He was Mr Wickham.

I’m in Canada but watching on Disney plus

If you’ve got a VPN that can connect to the UK, it’s on Netflix for a few more days.

Now that it’s on Hulu the world will finally get to experience Homeland lol I suspect most people wouldn’t pay for showtime.
I put Homeland as next to Breaking Bad as far as greatness.
