I like the deals you can get on a multi year subscription and usually try out a few of the ones with the best deals. Who doesn’t like cheaper, better, faster right?
Nord is popular around here and I’m glad it works for you. It just didn’t work for me for a number of reasons, mostly the super high network latency which just isn’t going to work — I do a lot of video meetings and we’ve all been on the end of jittery Zoom calls. It was the only service that had this issue which was strange.
I guess this is the third time I trialed the service and signed up for the 30 day thing. Nowhere in the signup did it warn me that I wasn’t eligible for the trial, you would think it would be a responsible thing to do. Wrote to support to get my refund and got back:
As we can see you have already refunded two payments under your account, as such, we can no longer issue any refunds. Please take a look at our >Terms of Service<, which you have agreed upon making the purchase, which states the following:
"You can only get a refund for each of our Services under the Money Back Guarantee twice. If you buy a particular Service again after the second refund for such Service, you will not be granted a Money Back Guarantee for any of its further cancellations. "
Back and forth a few times and no budging on this. This wasn’t transparent and to hide this away in the TOS is kind of a crappy way to do it.
I had to do a chargeback with my credit card company. None of the others who weren’t selected had me waste a bunch of time getting a refund. Buyer beware.
