Proton Mail Plus + Simple Login Premium <> Proton Unlimited

I recently stumbled upon Proton + Simple Login and really like what I see.

Comparing plans I was wondering… I would like to use Proton Mail with one of my domains. And I would like to use Simple Login with a different of my domains for more than 10 aliases.

I do not need Drive (using a self-hosted Nextcloud), VPN or Password/2FA manager.

Proton Ultimate comes at ~ 120 € per year.

Compared to Proton Mail Plus at ~ 50 € + SL Premium at 30 € = 80 €

Now my question: Not choosing Ultimate but subscribing to Proton and SL separately, do I miss anything essential?

That’s exactly how I’ve got mine set up with mail plus and sl premium. Unless you need more storage or better vpn access, you’re not missing anything.

for me one of important factor is VPN…every year i brough vpn and seems proton vpn just abit cheaper and thought hard should i get ultimate because i’m on tight budget…, i just heard that SL Premium is included in Ultimate.

i brought 2 domains and one of them on skiff and really happy with custom domain, i don’t think ever get more than 15 custom domain [email protected].

Between the Proton ↔ SL functionality not.

I have the same subscriptions as you and I’m very happy with it. Connected SL to my Proton account and all my aliases come in Proton Mail.

Good to know, thanks

I am just starting out qith Proton and SL so I am not entirely sure yet. As far as I understand it you can register one domain with Proton (or 3 in Ultimate plan) and a different one with SL.

So one would be usable in Proton (even catch-all), but not routed through SL. The other one can be used for aliases in SL

Correct me if I am wrong

What would be some advantages or use case scenarios to using a separate domain for ProtonMail and one for Simple Login?

Well I am just starting out with Proton/SL but my setup looks like this currently: I have one personal domain - my real name dot com that I use for my personal email and the mailboxes of my immediate family. It looks clean, professional in personal and personal-business communication. I have been using this address for many years. This domain I have connected to my Proton Mail inbox as endpoint.

For Simple Login I have a generic domain name that does not visibly connect to me personally. I plan to use this domain for SL aliases. This domain name is very short so it can be typed fast for any logins or newsletter subscriptions. And if these aliases fall into the hands of spammers at least they don’t get my real name in the domain part of the email address

It’s just a bit of separation, that’s all

One example would be portability (if something were to happen to Proton) and using directly a custom domain address on Proton for really important things such as governement or banking.

I think it depends on each and everyone, as it can be different per user.
