Opera Crashes After VPN Extension Installation + System-Wide Issue

Hi everyone,

I’m dealing with a major issue with Opera and my system after installing a VPN extension on the Opera browser. Here’s the situation:
1. Opera Won’t Open: After installing the VPN extension, Opera stopped working completely. When I try to open it, the browser flashes white 3 times, closes 3 times, and never launches.
• I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Opera, as well as deleting all related data, but the issue persists.

2.	Streaming Issues Across Other Browsers: I can no longer stream content on platforms like Netflix, Disney+, or Prime Video. I can access the websites, but any time I try to play a video, I get errors.

Here’s what I’ve already tried to fix these problems:
1. Reset Microsoft Edge Settings: Restored Edge to its default settings and restarted the browser.

2.	Checked Proxy and VPN Settings:
•	Verified that the system proxy is turned off in Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy.
•	Checked the VPN section and ensured no configurations were active.

3.	Flushed DNS and Reset Network Settings:
•	Ran commands (ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, and netsh winsock reset) to reset DNS and network configurations, followed by a system restart.
  1. Cleared Cache and Cookies in Edge: Removed all browser data, including cookies and cached files.

    1. Updated Edge: Confirmed Edge is running the latest version.

    2. Checked Widevine DRM: Updated the Widevine Content Decryption Module to ensure it wasn’t causing the issue.

    3. Scanned for Malware: used Windows Defender to scan for malware or adware, but nothing was detected.

    4. Tested Streaming on Another Browser: Tried using Chrome and Firefox to stream, but the playback errors still occur.

    5. Reset Network Configuration: Performed a full network reset via Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset.

Despite trying all these steps, the problems persist. (Dont judge me for using edge:))

Try uninstalling the VPN instead of just disabling it/not making it active. And, restart Windows if you haven’t.
