NordVPN’s Parent Company Is Merging With VPN Provider Surfshark
I had a theory a while back, in fact I think I posted it somewhere in the subreddit. I strongly believe that Surfshark was a white label of NordVPN because I saw alot of similarities with the design of the website and feature. NordVPN accidentally leaked unlimited logins which Surfshark already has. My guess is that after this merger, NordVPN will promote unlimited simultaneous devices. I do believe their strict no-log policy will remain intact. Some may see this as bad news but I think NordVPN itself will be fine. This is just my observation and theory.

was actually correct wow.
sadly thats bad news in my Oppinion
I just got surfshark a few months ago to get away from nord.
So basically this confirms that NordVPN is a part of Tesonet (Lithuanian data mining company)?
Anyone knows of a VPN provider that has agreements with Ella Link? I’m looking for low pings from Europe to South America.
The thing is it wasn’t a white label. They use completely different server such as virtual server and doublevpn with wireguard something nordvpn doesn’t do. They also use completely different data center. I find it hard to believe people barely found out considering surfshark and nordvpn employees all lead back to tesonet. Not only that but they share some information with each other such as using the same data center to unlock Netflix. I remember send a message to surfshark and nordvpn about it, after a few days nordvpn stopped using that IP address. You can look up the IP nordvpn and surfshark use for Netflix by going to your Netflix account and click on “recent activities” it will show all the IPS that were used to access Netflix. This how i found out nordvpn and surfshark has ties together. Also looked on LinkedIn surfshark employee lead back to tesonet and nordvpn too.
SS seemed to be ‘better’ IMO, when I looked into them, was pretty consistently a ‘good’ pick/recommendation often better rated than Nord although there are still higher rated ones especially if you have specific needs. Nord along with expressvpn are pretty well known and nord seemed to be having issues with their servers getting blocked for various vpn things you’d want them not blocked.
Yep. I was already leaning towards changing providers.
Ironically, the aggressive marketing was one of the biggest put offs for me. Well, that and all the bullshit security/audit claims.
Proton better bring WireGuard to Linux soon. Otherwise, it’s going to be Windscribe for me since they delivered on open-sourcing their client.
I was shadowbanned, ridiculed, hated upon for speaking the truth - but that’s the thing, IDGAF. I present facts.
Although our last interaction was not pleasant, I must commend you, u/Evonos for having a spine and looking beyond prejudice.
Interested to know why? Never heard of this lot.
What didn’t you like about Nord?
This is all old news. They openly talked to the press about Tesonet and Nord relationship a number of times. Just google it.
