Mozilla VPN without official app possible?

Hello,

I am thinking about getting Mozilla VPN but found out that the official client for MacOS requires 10.14 upwards. Due to reasons, I currently do not want to upgrade from 10.13. While I totally understand developers only support a few versions below most recent, is there any way of using Mozilla VPN without the official client?

Alternatively, I guess I could get MullVPN and tunnelblick (an OpenVPN client as the official MullVPN client requires 10.15+ but they provide configs to use them with MullVPN). While the network used appears to be the same, I would like to support Mozilla in their endeavors.

Any ideas or solutions?

Cheers

(sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but both /r/mozilla and /r/mozillavpn are far less populated and I would use the service with Firefox, so I guess my question is Firefox related…)

PS: I guess I could just donate to Mozilla and use MullVPN…

Not sure if this works with 10.13, but you can try: GitHub - NilsIrl/MozWire: MozWire is an unofficial configuration manager giving Linux, macOS users (among others), access to MozillaVPN.

Mullvad uses either OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols. You can set it up with any standard client app.

That looks interesting. Thanks for the link

Yeah, I guess I will do that and just donate from time to time…

You need an auth key that requires a paying Firefox Account. See the gh project mentioned above for details.
