I bought a dedicated IP address subscription yesterday. Works fine on Windows. Today I boot up MacOS:
“Dedicated IP” doesn’t show up at all in the list of servers. I found a random article somewhere that said you have to change the VPN protocol from Auto to OpenVPN (UDP).
I’ve done that, which at least makes “Dedicated IP” show up in the list of servers, but now when I click that, it just connects to a random server, not the single dedicated IP address I have registered.
On Windows, clicking the 3 dots next to Dedicated server opens a window saying the one country and the one server I have. On Mac, it does this:
They asked me to delete all the app settings. Which I did. Didn’t solve anything
They asked me to completely uninstall the app and use a third party app cleaner for Mac to remove it, then reinstall it from the app store. Which didn’t help.
They asked me to type my server name into the address bar, which does show up, and I can connect to it
They asked me to open the list of dedicated servers, which apparently is EVERYONE’S list of dedicated servers, find my one and connect to it. They aren’t in alphabetical order. I can connect to anyone’s dedicated IP, not just my own.
Support agent said it was the end of his shift and disconnected.
The next agent said “it’s meant to work like that”
