Wanted to start by saying I do not know anything about how ads work or really anything about how the internet works. I am not an expert by any means.
I’m just a user of LunaVPN for about 6+ years now and I’ve gone through it all with this VPN. I even remember the app Luna had. However, in all my time, I’ve never seen it down for this long. Also, when it is down, it has always been the same thing. When it doesn’t work for the YT app, there always been ads on the home page and videos loaded fine, just with ads. However, now the YT app acts strangely with Luna enabled, with long buffer times, no ads on the home page but ads in videos still. The fact it still is blocking most Safari ads and ads in games tells me Luna is still functional, but just not on YT (and I think Twitch although I don’t really use Twitch).
All to say, idk about y’all, but I’ve pretty much given up on it actually working on the YT app in the near future. Whatever YT recently just did to stop ads might’ve actually killed Luna fr. If anyone has any success reaching out to the Luna team or Sensor Tower, the owners of Luna, lmk what they say.

Hi OP, thanks for letting us know and apologies for the delay. YouTube has implemented some experimental changes in recent months which has caused ads to not be blocked properly.
We are currently investigating this issue and are working on a fix. Thanks again for your patience and letting us know!
Just use an app like Video Lite in the app Store. Using it for 5 months. No ads on iOS 
Hi OP, we have implemented a fix that restores adblocking on YouTube. Note that after turning the VPN on, it may take some time before the YouTube adblocking goes into effect (up to 12 hours), but usually much shorter. Alternatively, you may also delete / reinstall the YouTube app to force the VPN to immediately use the updated adblocking method, if you prefer.

Hello. Cannot install completely on iOS 18. There is no certificate in settings.
I’ve been seeing this comment, finally decided to try it out. It’s actually pretty good! It says it’s only ad free for about two weeks, and then I have to pay for it to continue to be ad-free. Does that apply to YouTube? In any case, it seems even if there is ads, it should be significantly better than YT currently.

Just use adguard dns system wide iOS solution and you don’t get apps in the Video Lite app :). Using it for free the app now for 5 months, no ads in Youtube and the app itself with Adguard
I’ve been testing it out, I really do think Luna is working again. I have had no ads so far.
Adguard is asking me to pay. I can’t see a free option. Please advise.
