Is ExpressVPN Good for Torrenting?

I like they allow P2P traffic on all their servers, and I’ve had better speeds with them than with NordVPN so far. Port forwarding only working on the router is annoying, though.

Anyone been using ExpressVPN long-term? How’s the torrenting experience?

I’ve been using it for more than a year now. Honestly on a 100 mbps connection i can’t notice any difference when vpn is on. Sure, it’s expensive but you can always split the cost with someone.

Pretty solid - and fast. I think it’s worth the money

I can’t speak to Windows/Mac/Android but their Linux kill switch is useless for torrenting.

If you’re using it on Android get the cracked version

I’ve used them for 12 months (UK) no issues, torrents on all servers but at the higher end of cost. I don’t need the streaming services, iplayer etc or port forwarding. I’m trying Mullvad now, does the job for torrents, not interested in streaming. And Mullvad lets you pay per month, same price if you pay for 12 month and no email sign up

decent Expressvpn Vs Expressvp

Same. Spectrum just gave me a free upgrade to 200Mb and I think I see a tiny bit of increased latency but I’m probably 30 miles from Spctrum’s network. Once it’s going I almost never see a slowdown.

They are both VPN providers

Can you explain please why it’s useless? I have it and it works well on a headless raspberry pi.

Cracke’d VPN’s are never a good idea

30 miles is 48.28 km

I think he was trying to say he prefers Mullvad

expressvpn’s kill switch for Linux is just a resolv.conf that points to expressvpn’s DNS servers. Anything that doesn’t need name resolution (like torrenting) is unaffected by the kill switch.

Grab a legal torrent from somewhere like Debian and drop the VPN. If your client stops torrenting I’d be happy to eat my words

My ISP wrote me a nice letter about this - twice.

If you’re using qbittorrent you can force qbit to only use a VPN but IME it looks like it takes a few seconds for the torrenting to stop after the VPN drops.
