Is AdGuard VPN worth it?

I’m on the free 3GB/month subscription. Download/upload speeds are slow, ping is high. Does this significantly improve with the paid subscription?

I’ve purchased 5 years and I regret it. If your use case is p2p, run away from this. It is slow as fuck and it doesn’t give you IPs from the region you select, they always show up as The Netherlands

I was skeptical after reading a lot of negative comments about it here on Reddit, but I went with a stack social plan that seemed very cheap compared to other VPNs, and I have no real regrets. It works fine, integrates perfectly with the AdGuard blocker, gives me high speeds and a very wide variety of locations. Honestly I’m not sure why people complain so much. The one negative is that it doesn’t seem to work for standard torrenting.

Depends what you’re looking for in a VPN, as others have said. For accessing two restricted content it’s fine. I’ve gotten peacock, paramount+, HBO and Netflix US working while in London, and BBC iPlayer and Netflix UK work just fine while I’m in NY. This was not always the case for me and only recently has this started to work well.

I’m not really sure that any VPN is all that great for privacy, maybe except mullvad. Louis Rossmann has a good video on this. Adguard hasn’t submitted to any external audits and idk why. But they claim they have a 0 logging policy :man_shrugging:

I’ve done a few speed tests with adguard with my nearest server on various WiFi networks on 5G in congested areas and in remote areas. I compared it to nord VPN. Adguard VPN Significantly dropped my download/upload speeds by about half. That being said, Nord VPN was even worse and by quite a bit.

There are probably better options out there (Mullvad), but nothing else is compatible with adguard’s adblocker.

I use it because it works alongside AdGuard blocker particularly on mobile. Otherwise it is one or the other. But if you don’t use AdGuard blocker it’s shit don’t bother. Get Proton or Mullvad or PIA

No, I paid for a year’s subscription but only used it for three days before returning to PIA.

I combine adguard and AdguardVPN for my phone at work for privacy and it does the job. The free version is deliberately slow. If you buy the paid version, it’ll be faster for sure.

Paid version is very fast, but not much protection, some websites can still detect my real ip.

Just use Mullvad or IVPN. Both are much cheaper per month, open source, use wireguard, and externally audited.

Surfshark. Cheaper than nord though not a huge number of endpoints. Works well for me

It depends. It comes with AdGuard dns which can be used to manage dns and blocking in household for safer and clean browsing.

No the download and upload will deteriorate in vpn always enable mode. It is best if you choose a vpn provider like browsec which has the ability to enable the vpn on particular or specific sites and for the rest normal internet will remain active.

PIA is owned by Kape now. Potentially bad decision these days.

I second this.

I only use Adguard Home self-hosted for extra layer of DNS protection.
