When I try to watch something on Hulu it keeps saying I’m using a vpn even when using different devices. I’m using a udm and the vpn server is on and not set up. How do I fix it?
Edit the vpn server is off not on fast typing and in middle of class go brrr
Turn off the VPN server and test.
What’s your ISP? If it’s Starlink, this is not an uncommon problem. Basically, the issue is that whatever IP you’re using makes Hulu _think_ you’re using a VPN. You’ve got a few options:
- Contact Hulu’s incredibly helpful tech support; they’ll be able to help you right away.
LOL just kidding.

Actually go use a real VPN. I know this sounds ridiculous, but some of the commercial VPNs out there are expressly marketed to people who want to skate by geofencing restrictions, and the providers rotate IPs frequently and try to get around the blocks. It might be worth a try.

Do you have another property with internet or a friend who really trusts you? You could set up your own VPN at that other property and stream from there. This is what I did back when Starlink had a lot of these issues (it’s less of a problem now). I had a WireGuard server running at my city home (no streaming problems) and would stream through that. Helps to have a fast symmetric connection wherever you’re locating the server.
Oh wait shit sorry typo I meant the vpn server is off
Check your wan ip then. Is it showing as your area? whatsmyip.com
