Home VPN for remote work - Which routers to choose?

Hi Everyone,
I’d appreciate some advice as I’m new to this sort of thing. My company has recently required me to work from a specific country whereas previously I could work from anywhere.

My plan is to purchase two GlInet routers to act as Wireguard client and server. I will keep the client router with me and set up the server router at a family member’s house.

Can anyone advise the best routers to choose from? It looks like two Opal’s would work for my set up but I want to make sure I have the best experience and don’t mind paying slightly more if the Beryl or Slate works better for my needs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Thanks all, I’ve gone for the Brume 2 + Beryl AX.

Slate AX would be my recommendation if you’re okay with the cost. Capable of higher wireguard speeds and extremely flexible for other options like tailscale and zerotier.

I have over 100 clients using dual Slate AX setups and they’ve been absolutely rock solid.

I have Slate AX for both home and away and seems to do the job fine.

Why not take a look at their specs and if you have money pay for faster, if not don’t.

Edit: here you go, I looked up the comparison page, you can compare and decide what works best for your price point.
