Hi, I don’t know if this is the right room for my concern

Hi everyone, this is my first post here since I don’t know where to go for some help and I’m not sure if this is the right place for my case, anyway. I’ll tell you my case and see if hopefully someone in this community knows something about it or where I can go to solve this, if there is a way to solve it.

The case is that I do streams on twitch and tiktok, but the thing is that I currently live in Bulgaria, and my streams are aimed at Spanish-speaking audiences, mainly from Spain, and I noticed that when I go live on tiktok I only appear to people from Bulgaria.

Then I decided to buy a VPN, to be able to stream from tiktok as if I were in Spain and to appear in the feed of the Spanish community.

Everything was fine in tiktok, but the problem comes with twitch and OBS, when I turn on the VPN and turn on live on both platforms, in tiktok there is no problem the live goes smooth and with stable bitrate of 6000, but in OBS for some reason the bitrate is unstable varying between only 1000 and 2000 with more than 20k fps lost.

I have tried the split tunneling option offered, putting that only the TikTok live studio app uses the VPN to broadcast with Spanish IP, but the problem with OBS and Twitch continues, it is as if I was still using the VPN, although in my speed meter it says that I am not connected to it. I have tried the other way around, setting OBS and opera (my web browser) not to use VPN and the rest of the applications if, but it does not work either, in fact when I activate the split tunneling not only does it not separate the connections correctly, but it does not load any page of my browser either, it is as if it stopped working.

To summarize and pay final question is, is it possible to make only TikTok live studio in this case, use the VPN to broadcast, while the rest of the programs on my PC use my normal network? Or be able to solve the problem of bitrate instability on OBS and twitch?

Any suggestion or solution is more than welcome, as I have been facing this issue for a few weeks now and have not found a way to solve it.

This is called “split tunneling”, and some VPNs support it on some OS’s. Maybe contact your VPN’s support to ask about it, or read the docs for your VPN.

You’d be better off buying a VPN capable router to be your client and proxying all the connections from your device(s) through a VPN server in Spain.

That said, some services may simply block or downgrade connections coming from any commercial VPN provider IPs.

Ideal situation would be to find someone in Spain with a good internet connection (download and upload) willing to host a private VPN router to act as your server so it looks like you’re coming from a genuine Spain residential IP… and also disabling GPS and location services on the device recording the streams in Bulgaria.

Yes, that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 3 hours, I’ve been through 3 support agents and none have been able to give me an explanation or solution as to why their Split tunneling isn’t working as it should, preventing applications that are aggregated from not going through their VPN

I simply want to know if there is a method to be able to run a single application through VPN and not the rest, or if it is possible to stream Twitch with OBS through VPN without losing bitrate or upload mb, I mean many streamers use VPN in their games without affecting the quality of their stream. And no, they are not using double pc not all of them.
