GlobalProtect Downloading Issue on Mac

Hello:

I have a MacBook Pro 13" with MacOS Ventura 13.3. I click the button that says “Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent”, download the file, open the file, go through all the steps, and then, at the very end, I am given the message “Installation Failed”. I am thinking that this may be caused by my previous choice to not let the GlobalProtect file access my downloads folder. If this is they cause, how do I undo this issue? Thank you.

I don’t know if that is the reason (although I have a faint recollection of having this happen to me in the past), and I don’t know if anything of what I write below will help either, but shooting a few suggestions from the hip

Do you see the installer/GlobalProtect in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders, or Full Disk Access?

If not, does it work if you move the installer to another directory, e.g. Desktop? Maybe it will prompt for access to the directory the installer is executed from.

If not, does it work if you delete the installer and download it again?
