I have a work computer and a travel router. I can’t download any other software onto my work computer. Does nordvpn have a web interface? Do I need to download the app for the vpn to function properly? If so where can I change locations on the web interface? Thanks

You do need to download for any vpn to work, however you can set up the connection on your router if it supports it

actually, they do make a nordvpn browser extension that you can use without installing the nordvpn desktop program.

That’s the easiest way to use NordVPN.

There are a few options, depending on what protection you need.

  1. Set up the tunnel on your router using OpenVPN; the Nord website has guides on how to do this. Best way to protect all traffic leaving your home network.

  2. Set it up on your PC using OpenVPN. Easier to just use the app. Only protects that PC.

  3. Download and install the NordVPN app on your PC or mobile device. Easiest, can choose various server types, even double VPN if security is paramount. Only protects that device/PC.

  4. Use the NordVPN browser proxy extension. Known to have authentication issues, only protects browser traffic and does not route any other network traffic through the VPN.

I am aware. It’s still not a web client; it’s essentially a VPN mini client that routes browser traffic through the VPN.
