I’ve been with my VPN provider for about 6 years and been happy with them. 3 weeks ago I decided to add a dedicated IP address setup to my plan for an extra $4 a month. I’ve been with my mobile for about 5 months and never use more than half of my 10GB monthly allowance — until this month. Is the dedicated IP address using more mobile data? Can’t think of anything else. My lifestyle hasn’t changed or anything so I can’t put my finger on why I would go over the limit now.
Your ip address is not using data, it’s an identification to guide data traffic to and from the correct location and unit. Have you used more data or has your phone agreement changed?
The IP address is not responsible, only for the extra 4 dollars a month

I’ve heard some shady things with a couple of the “big” VPN providers with regards to static IPs. Something about using local systems as proxies that use that static IP, so be careful. Check your phones CPU. Find a way to monitor it. See if it is being used as a proxy.
Phone agreement hasn’t changed. Nothing has really, apart from the dedicated ip address. As it isn’t that it must be an app. I’ll need to monitor usage next month and keep the app or apps usage to Wi-Fi only.
