First, some info:
I’ve tried various vpn extensions in the chrome store for my chrome browser. I’ve found that there is one that works the best for me, but I’m not saying what. (so before mods reach for delete, no I’m not asking for advice on which vpn is best, etc).
I have a router that has the dd-wrt variant of open-wrt linux shell flashed to its BIOS, so it allows me to use a built in openVPN client option, where I fill in various VPN information such as TLS key, encryption certificate, username, password, etc etc etc. You know, all the little stuff that VPN exe programs normally all set for you when you activate them.
The issue:
Well, I’d like to be able to enter whatever credentials this extension is using to give me free unlimited vpn that is actually good in chrome, but broadcast to my entire device from the router. But I haven’t the first clue how to do this.
the question:
Is this possible, and if so, how?
Why I ask this:
The reason I am seeking this bonkers method: There is an exe I could download and run for the vpn service on my device, but then it just gives me a couple of gigabytes of vpn data before telling me I need to pay or uninstall it, where the chrome extension that uses THIS SAME SERVICE, gives me unlimited vpn data completely free, and I have zero money before anyone asks.
I figure this is completely unfair to pull on people, I have other programs I want to use this vpn on.
Legality and liability:
This is legal since they put this up in chrome store and all to download completely free and use completely free, also there’s nothing in their terms about reverse engineering the extension to do this on my entire device. (believe me, I looked long and hard before making this post)
Thank you for your time.
