As a digital nomad, I’ve spent the past few years hopping between countries, soaking up new cultures, and working from wherever I can find a decent Wi-Fi signal. But one thing I’ve learned along the way? Keeping my online life secure, no matter where I am, is a top priority. That’s where VPNs have been my lifesavers.
After experimenting with a bunch of different VPNs—some great, others not so much—I’ve landed on a few that truly stand out. These have been my go-to companions through sketchy public Wi-Fi, geo-restrictions, and everything in between. Here’s what’s made my shortlist:
NordVPN: Trust it with my life for secure and unrestricted browsing. Its massive server network lets me easily tap into content from home or anywhere else in the world. Plus, the peace of mind it gives me when using public Wi-Fi is priceless. If I’m streaming or torrenting, I know I’m covered.
ExpressVPN: This one’s all about speed. It’s been especially helpful for gaming and handling larger files.
Surfshark: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option that still packs a punch, Surfshark it is. It lets you connect unlimited devices (a must when you’re working across phones, laptops, and tablets) and comes with handy extras like a kill switch and an ad blocker—super helpful for a smooth, secure browsing experience.
These 3 VPNs have made a huge difference for me. No, I don’t use all of them. Nord does everything for me but the other 2 are alt option in case you don’t like NordVPN.
