the free subscription should have 5 free countries now, but its still showing only 3 in the app?
My understanding is, newer free accounts draw from a ‘pool’ of servers in 5 countries, but can’t select a specific country, only fastest server, and why Proton’s website shows 5 countries.
For older free accounts, you can still select an individual server, in the original 3 countries, the Netherlands, Japan and USA.
I think Proton has yet to decide whether every free account, will move to the same fastest server only option. I.e. no country selection.
It is better to have those 3, as you can select which server you want.
Unlike the newer accounts that has 5 servers, you can’t select a server from them. It’ll automatically choose the fastest for you.
Update the app or maybe uninstall and install again.
If not work this then send email to support.
It doesn’t give me the option to choose anyone know what happens it just logs me onto the “fastest server”
I sure do love it when companies try to lure more customers by screwing free users out of benefits they’ve had for ages rather than making their premium version more enticing.
No, it was five for a while
Newer free users have it worse, they can’t pick which country to connect to
