Why YSK - NordVPN effectively costs 3x as much as it did a couple years ago and it could definitely be worth shopping around. I have had Nord since 2018 and I have paid ~$90 USD for 2 year subscriptions ever since. However, today I was charged $150 for a *1 year* subscription. That’s a 3x increase over what I used to pay. I’m not sure if anybody actually pays full price for Nord, but could be worth checking to make sure you’re not getting charged a ton.
Bonus: Nord has a hidden “request a refund” billing page if you contact their support and ask for a refund.
YSK that NordVPN is one of the worst options for paid VPN services you will find.
the most well known and popular “security software” is one you should prefer not using because it is the first one to be targeted because the most popular service is the one with the most users.
which is an argument supported by the fact that NordVPN was already hacked once.
This is good to know because I cashed in on one of those 3 year subscriptions in 2022 and I believe I only had to pay I believe $80. My sub expires in February so I’ll definitely take this note into account before it automatically dings me for a renewal.
I signed up for a 30 day trial so I could watch Taskmaster NZ. They then emailed me an offer of 2 years for around $65. I took the offer but probably won’t renew after that.
I guess the cost of buying every single youtube channel has to be funded by somehow. Funny how it works where we have to watch ads before and during YouTube videos, promos in the videos, all so we can pay a company 3x more to continue funding them making our YT experience worse.
Find an alternative. Fairly sure they’re a data collection company masquerading as a VPN anyway.
