Yes I saw the rules, yes I read the FAQ.
The FAQ says no free VPN but use Mullvad or Proton.
But I still wanted to ask directly.
Before I got my current VPN, I read through legion of best lists and articles and most said the best for torrenting was Nord, because fast and dedicated p2p servers. So I got Nord. And realized, that was all bullshit because nord has no port forwarding so you can only download from a few seeders and not really upload to anyone (which in turn disqualifies you from many). Basically, nord may be alright is you just want the latest popular thing with tens of seeders, but as soon as you look for something with maybe 2 seeders, well, prepare for “stalled”. Or for a google search term, NordVPN sucks for torrenting.
So well, I threw that money out of the window, basically. So before I commit to mullvad, I wanna hear, how does it fare for torrenting? Is the wiki recommondation like the recommondations for nord, good in theory, awful in practice, or is it actually worthwhile? does uploading work?
(I’d prefer proton honestly because they seem to be a great company, but sadly, I’m not made of money)
Windscribe has ephemeral port forwarding for free. You gotta make a new port every 7 days though. If you pay for a static IP port forwarding is permanent. I use it over proton because I don’t like buying one part of an ecosystem of apps I don’t need.
