Which VPN is actually good for torrenting?

Yes I saw the rules, yes I read the FAQ.
The FAQ says no free VPN but use Mullvad or Proton.
But I still wanted to ask directly.
Before I got my current VPN, I read through legion of best lists and articles and most said the best for torrenting was Nord, because fast and dedicated p2p servers. So I got Nord. And realized, that was all bullshit because nord has no port forwarding so you can only download from a few seeders and not really upload to anyone (which in turn disqualifies you from many). Basically, nord may be alright is you just want the latest popular thing with tens of seeders, but as soon as you look for something with maybe 2 seeders, well, prepare for “stalled”. Or for a google search term, NordVPN sucks for torrenting.
So well, I threw that money out of the window, basically. So before I commit to mullvad, I wanna hear, how does it fare for torrenting? Is the wiki recommondation like the recommondations for nord, good in theory, awful in practice, or is it actually worthwhile? does uploading work?

(I’d prefer proton honestly because they seem to be a great company, but sadly, I’m not made of money)

Proton is the best VPN for torrenting because it still has port forwarding. Mullvad I would say is the best VPN without PF.

But I don’t know why you’re considering mullvad if PF is your whole reason for leaving Nord, cause they also don’t have it.

I use Winscribe and got a black Friday price of like $29 I think per year. I don’t recall exact price but it was very affordable.

Airvpn has been solid for me, since Mullvad removed port forwarding.

Windscribe has ephemeral port forwarding for free. You gotta make a new port every 7 days though. If you pay for a static IP port forwarding is permanent. I use it over proton because I don’t like buying one part of an ecosystem of apps I don’t need.

Proton!!!

Proton!!!

Port forwarding!!’ No logs!!!

I’ve never had an issue seeding with Nord, but I’m mostly just using public trackers. Why is port forwarding sometimes required?

Proton or airvpn if you’re on a budget, I wouldn’t bother with anything else for torrenting.

… And not really upload to anyone

What?

Port forwarding is optional on all trackers I’m on. The sole purpose of a tracker is to connect you to other people.

Port forwarding lets others connect to you without going through a tracker. Its only needed if the tracker is offline.

To answer your question, mullvad is really good for torrenting. Its the fastest VPN I used.

Any VPN you end up using must promise to not keep logs.

Currently in using iVPN because I prefer them as a company and the apps are far better (doesn’t make a difference if you’re just using wireguard).
