Like the question, I recently torrented some stuff from qBittorrent and I turned off my VPN after the file had completely downloaded. IDK if I did this right or not.
- VPN on
- Torrent client on
- Torrent client off ( Aka closing it )
- VPN off ( or leave it on how you want )
Have the VPN running if your torrent client is running. Also check to make sure torrent client is really off and not just minimized to tray. Seeding (sharing copyrighted material) is the punishable offense you’re avoiding with a VPN.
Qbittorrent can use the VPN on it’s own without having to have the entire pc running thru it
Can i turn off and still use the files? I had 2k13 then a internet provider sent a letter. I can recover the game after deleting it, now can i just use it now?
Shit so I did the first two step but I closed the vpn after everything downloaded but not the torrent.
Probably. Setup your VPN as a proxy…I guess maybe you may not have that ability… I set it up like two years ago and completely forget about it
Proxy is not as secure as vpn.
I’d really have to lookup my settings to be sure, but a https proxy tunnel through the VPN provider should be identical without having to wire the entire network stack to go thru it
