VPN client for use with the AirVPN VPN service

I have been using the AirVPN service for a while now but their client is abysmal and I fear continuing to use it, will comprise my privacy.

I chose AirVPN after a few people I trust recommended it but they did warn about their client.

I am plagued by constant connection disconnection loops. I have downgraded to an older version of the client, still no luck.

Can you recommend me a client that supports AirVPN? Something that is

  • stable and reliable
  • Automation friendly through the command line
  • Extensive configuration options

That last one is not must but would be great to have.

I am on windows 11

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe switch services? I’ve really liked Mullvad though thinking about switching to PIA for port forwarding.

Always OpenVPN. It’s the swiss army knife of VPNs. That means it’s hard to set up, though. Some people say the witeguard performance is better, though.

I use WG on my openwrt router to connect to AirVPN. Connection has been stable and I get good speeds as well. Just download config files from client area, import them in VPN client and connect

I had to double check your use name lol, I few months when I was searching around, your various guides and comments are what saved me from allot of headache.

Port forwarding was a must so I went with it. You did mention Eddie being trash but I thought it would do for a while, its dog feces mate.

I will go with WireGuard then.

Anyways, I appreciate you for the effort you made in helping us begginers, your guides was most impertial and shill free.

Hmm, I thought WireGuard was just a protocol, not a client? How can I use WireGuard as a client for accessing AirVPN services?

I’m in the same boat as OP…AirVPN is great for a lot of reasons, but Eddie is absolute trash.

Eddie is trash.

While setting up wg, remember to pay attention to the config. Mine stopped working because the server went down for maintenance. I was traveling so it was painful. I couldn’t fix it remotely.
Lesson learned- don’t tie it to a single server
