Woke up his morning went to doom scroll for a bit to be told I can’t use tiktok due to the us ban.
I’m here at home in the midlands, set my tiktok up here during covid like everyone else, I did use a vpn but set to other eu countries but so does my partner and he’s not kicked off. Turned off the vpn still no luck.
No idea but I’m guessing they just detected you were using a VPN and blocked you just incase you were US based. Try install the app on a different device.
Didn’t use Twitter much once, now not at all since it was bought by the current owner and he decided free speech meant whatever he wanted, and that included deplorables.
Now stopped using Facebook, as it’s owners also want ‘free speech without consequences’.
Not interested in being the product (yes, I’m on Reddit, the irony not lost) with these companies and their money at any price approach.
I agree shouldn’t be glued to it. Nor Any other app…
Also remember if someone is chronicle online like you are suggesting they’ll just mitigate over to another app…
It might sound like a kiddies app to you but it has some very useful resources recipes, at home workouts, diy advice, all sorts of useful information not just brain rot which I agree there is plenty of.
But having said that, I’m not in the US, Spend very little to no time over there, my phone has never been stateside so like it shouldn’t affect me not even a us citizen.
It’s not even the content on Tik Tok that I have concerns about, although brainrot is definitely a thing. It’s more the incidious way they people get addicted to it.
When you see people can’t go to the toilet without it or even drive along with it on, there is something wrong. I’ve never felt the need to doomscroll Reddit when driving.
