It probably got fried. Was there a storm between now and the last time it worked?

Might be easiest to just get a USB ethernet adapter.

I use a program called “driver booster” by IO bit, it’s found drivers for me for the weirdest stuff. Try it out, and you can uninstall it after. Be careful to uncheck the additional softwares it wants to install, commonly their itop VPN and pc care software. If driver booster can’t find it, the network chip likely fried. They can sometimes fizzle out for basically no reason

Why dont you reinstall the driver

Did you do a BIOS update recently perhaps? Could be the “onboard LAN” card is disabled in the BIOS.

Run hardware diagnosis available during boot on bios startup menu it will tell you if you need a new lan card. You can try downloading driver manually from motherboard manufacturers site and see if works after you install Ethernet driver. And last resort is buying an external Ethernet card

my laptop done this recently and a reset of the bios to defaults brought it back…

i had not ever been in the bios of the laptop before and its only 10 months old.

There wasn’t but I did accidently flick off my power bar that my computer was plugged in could this of caused it? I’m also receiving an error saying “Realtek network controller was not found it deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable” I have no clue wtf is happening

I’m honesty fairly dumb I followed a tutorial on how to do it and when I run the auto run it says it works I check it’s not there

Then do it manually. And make sure to download the drivers for your card(intel ac 9560)

lol…thats a wifi card. It has nothing to do with his ethernet.

My wifi works fine right now I tried installing the correct Ethernet driver and got another error hitting me with “the Realtek network controller was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable”

You could try turning off deep sleep mode and see if that fixes anything? Also do you have the card built in or do you use one of those pci cards

Cable is fine Checked with my laptop works like a dream I should also mention this isn’t the first time this has happened and it randomly started working again this was about 6 months ago both times the drivers just disappeared

Well how did you fix it then
