Trying to find a VPN that has servers in a specific location in the UK

I’m not very familiar with VPNs, so I hope my question makes sense. I’m trying to make my device appear as though it’s in a specific location (town/city) in the UK. That means I should try to find a VPN that has a server in that particular town or city right? But I can’t seem to find that information easily. Most commercial VPNs just say “we have hundreds of servers all over the UK”.

Does that town/city have a datacenter of some kind?

which city exactly? pm me

If you have a willing friend living in that location you could install a VPN on a computer at their location.

I’m thinking a Raspberry Pi (about the size of a pack of cigarettes) running piVPN. Cost about $100US to get started.

Pro: no ongoing costs, you can put the VPN where you need the endpoint.

Con: you need a helper willing to install a computer on their network and share bandwidth with you.

maybe this can be useful for you: https://keepmyhomeip.com ??

It really depends on your VPN provider. Some allow you to browse and select from a list of specific servers. Others automatically connect you to any available server in the country you chose, making the decision for you.

My guess would be that you will not find a server where you mention because they typically are only in large cities. If you absolutely must have presence in a smaller area for some reason, you might have to resort to setting up a private VPN with someone you know who lives there.

I don’t know. I’d be happy with a location between Watford and Hemel Hempstead, and I’m aware that neither of those places are considered cities - I think they are pretty small.

I wish I could answer honestly. Hard to find info like that anywhere and my guess is that it’s like that on purpose

Maybe chat with support of a VPN and maybe they can assist you better and answer your question. Good Luck!

Oh no worries, I’m grateful that you replied and your suggestion is actually a good one - just ask the companies directly! I just thought that maybe I was missing something and there’s a list somewhere of where servers are located.
