Just bought a 6 month subscription and innstalled the Surfshark plug-in for Firefox
The problem is that when connected to the VPN, its really slow. I mean, loading a website can take up to a minute and i can just forget about watching Youtube. I have tried different servers, but no luck.
How can i fix this?
I don’t like the speed on the browser that’s why I installed the desktop version and works fine for me probably you can’t try that.
A lot of servers that i normally connect to have slowed significantly. Best bet, connect to a server and run a speed test. repeat until you find a decent server.
No issues here with speed on either App/desktop or browser version and enabled all the time
Depends on your selected location. I tried Malaysia, Thaikand, and Indonesia recently and they were horrible. Had to use Nord. Nord was still slow, but at least better😅.
I had no problem with other locations
It’s been extremely slow over the past month or so, using the desktop app and also using the chrome extension. Really becoming useless.
I have the browser extension for Firefox and I haven’t had any issues.
Are you using “fastest location”?
Sometimes that happens on my laptop the easiest fix for which is often in sleep mode a restart with a server change usually fixes it

Speed used to be better, has been a bit iffy recently. Not consistently, but not as reliable as it was.
i got 100mbit down and 40 up ( but without VPN i reach atm only 34 mbit Upload so… yeah my ISP also got some issues with Upload atm so take upload with a grain of salt )
my gf is also watching netflix next room so it may vary a bit on the Higher end ( approx 80-100mbps )

It’s been terrible for me lately.
I don’t get anything really above 40mbps and always intermittent.
Most of the streaming services are blocked.
It’s been crap for me for several months now. Used to be fine - now no matter what server i connect to (fastest location, nearest country, several different servers I selected at random) it’s almost always slow to load anything. Even loading the surfshark website is stupidly slow.
I just purchased surfshark and using it with openvpn (command line utility) on Ubuntu. Tried a few servers and all of them are very slow. My internet is 100 mbps up/down, but with surfshark usa servers getting only 2-5 mbps up/down.
But to my surprise, i noticed that udp configuration is much faster than tcp. with udp i am getting close to my isp speed.
Change the laptop timezone to the location you are connecting to. Works wonders for Surfshark.
