So I tried out a VPN

I was running rebirth last night and for reference here are my stats.

1.20 KD
400 wins
15 % win percentage

You would say I’m a sweaty player by all indications. I’m playing a few games averaging about 7 to 10 kills. I run into this guy and we become friends.

He says, hey man these lobbies are sweaty queue up on me I have a VPN.

So here comes my first experience with a VPN and it has completely shattered the way I feel about some of my favourite youtubers.

Our first game was a duo quads where I dropped 20 and him 11. The next few games was more of the same with a sweaty lobby every 5 games or so. It genuinely felt like I was playing against AI but it was real people with a 0.60 KD. My average kills per game must have been close to 17 or more and I think my KD for the night was around a 4.

Here’s the interesting thing, after absolutely dominating a lobby it was common to encounter a TTV with 20-30 kills when there were only 2 teams alive, aka there’s a ton of people doing this for their streams.

Don’t be fooled by what streamers say the VPN absolutely changes the lobby quality drastically. Even if you’re playing against someone with a 1.0 KD their connection is so much worse than yours that it feels like you see them before they do.

Anyway this is just my two cents. Something to consider when you’re grinding for that 2 KD wondering how some people are walking around with a 5-6KD

I hate this so much there are some streamers/content creators who do this blatantly, one for example is NoArmMissile, I’ve have never seen him play above 0.7 and he upload 2 high kill games every day. He barely gets shot back.

One of my friends also bought a VPN, I do not know the details but we get kind of better lobbies like .7-1.1 without it always above 1.1 So even with we barely get into lobbies that really feel like proper bot lobbies.
