Should I put a VPN on my Fire Stick?

I’ve been using the Fire Stick for a couple of weeks now for all my shows, movies and sports. Am I being reckless by not using a VPN?

Also, since the Fire Stick is plugged into the TV, should I put a VPN on the TV too, or just on the fire stick is enough?

If you are on this subreddit I’m gonna go with yes, you need to be using vpn.

If it works without VPN you leave it like that. Only when your ISP starts throttling your connection, you use VPN. Depends on the country where you reside. Some countries they throttle during main events. In other places they use other occasions or times.
There still is a possibility, that your provider is blacklisted. In that case, you need to contact them…
No need for VPN on your TV if you have it on your firestick. The firestick is the receiver and the tv is no more than the display

I’ve had teatv on mine for about 4 years now and no VPN. Don’t think they care anymore but who knows. I’ve never been contacted by my ISP

No. Unless your country specifically blocks you from certain usages of the Internet you do not need a VPN for real Debrid or IPTV. For some reason 90% of the Internet thinks you need s VPN. It is all fear mongering. You need a VPN only if you are using a torrent manager like qbitorrent or uTorrent. Real Debrid and IPTV come from private servers that are not easily tracked unless you’re being specifically targeted by cyber security professionals. You are not being targeted, trust me. Yes many real Debrid links say “torrent” but that just means its original file is coming from a torrent, but the whole point of real Debrid is that real Debrid takes the risk torrenting it, and then you download directly from their servers which is completely safe. On the basically impossible occasion that your ISP sends you an email that your streaming illegal stuff, you can get a VPN after that, but that won’t happen if you’re not directly torrenting with a torrent client like uTorrent or qbitorrent.

I always use a VPN, firstly to be on the safe side, just in case, as you never know what might happen.

But also, in my instance, I actually get a faster download speed with my VPN on than when it is off. I would prefer peace of mind rather than possibly take a risk, however small that might be. If you can comfortably afford it then I would suggest you use one.

Yes especially if you plan on using torrents

I have the ISP problem with every IPTV subscription I use. The IPS is blocking the channels of my country especially in big sport events. Can you suggest a good VPN at normal price that I can try?

You will get mixed reviews here but I always do. Surfshark works the best for firestick and i’d rather not have my Internet provider see everything I do.

If you are asking that question, your answer is yes!

Can you share which IPTV you use?

I toggle between VPN and no VPN (mostly depends on my mood) and for basic streaming I’m not sure either way is best.

Fortunately I have a subscription to a VPN service that I can use on my computer and mobile devices, and being able to use it on the fire stick is just gravy.

I only use a .com so that I can check out streams and websites, without my old provider knowing what and were I go on the internet, I believe it is called controlling my own destiny, and not being controlled by others!!
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but you can’t take a cheap without some government agency knowing !!!

I found that most of my channels worked fine without a VPN, but the adult channels would buffer a lot. When I got a VPN, the buffering went away. So to some extent, Sonic throttles my IPTV traffic

Absolutely, yes if you stream anything from a non-legit source.

Edit to clarify: a legit source doesn’t just mean paying for it. If you pay 4$ a month for an iptv that is essentially pirated, you’re still able to get a letter from your ISP just the same.

You also only need the vpn on the fire stick as that’s where the content is being downloaded. Your tv simply displays it via the hdmi connection, but isn’t downloading the content itself.

I been hacking tv since big dish I don’t and won’t use vpn or pay for debrid

Commenting because id also like to know.

That should be illegal

You meant to say 100% of IPTV is illegal

I’ve gotten multiple letters from 2 different ISPs for exactly that.

Either way, for what a VPN costs, I don’t risk it anymore. I was lucky and got a lifetime membership for windscribe when they first started and it was definitely money well spent IMO.
