Question about “downloading”😉…

So let’s say SWIM wanted to be able to torrent TV Series’ or Movies, and had been able to for a long time without even using a VPN, then one day he chose a file to download that got his whole house internet cut off as it was a trick to alert his ISP of his activity. Even after that it seemed like when he was connected through a VPN, they [THEIR ISP] could STILL apparently track their “downloading” and shut it down again, and was warned if it happened again, they would not provide internet services for them anymore. Now, he is even afraid to attempt logging into his VPN, as he’s heard of torrent sites and VPN clients that actually leak your IP to your ISP to get you shut down. My question is, regardless of copyright issues, just capability here, is it possible to “download” torrents if you’re using a VPN?? And how do you know which files are safe??

This seems like it might be a better question for r/piracy since not everyone with a Nord sub torrents.

I almost exclusively use nord to torrent. Multiple terrabytes downloaded and uploaded. Using p2p file sharing is not illegal. Nord is hosted in Panama where they are not required to keep logs, if they are sent a request for logs they physically could not provide them with logs as all sessions are hosted in memory and vanish when you disconnect.
