Prompted by a high-profile case of an individual using an ‘anonymous’ VPN that turned out to offer less than expected protection, TorrentFreak decided to ask a selection of VPN companies some tough questions.
Um. This is from March. The mention of Liberty Reserve as a viable payment option was a tip-off.
I’d love to see what the answers are like for more providers, especially a few of the seedboxes.
So far it’s been smooth sailing with Whatbox, I think I’ll shoot them an email.
i stopped reading torrentfreak over a year ago, when i knew from first hand experience how terrible some of the 2012 VPN providers they recommended really were. i’m glad someone was able to spank them into not just throwing around their opinions to the highest bidder.
Want to actually start changing the situation. Start protecting your info. Delete facebook, start using tools on https://prism-break.org/ Get GPG, TextSecure, Tor, linux, start using https://freenetproject.org/ and build a meshnet http://projectmeshnet.org/ This would work way better.
Glad to see BolehVPN on that list. Gave them a try a few months ago, was impressed with their CS and communication, and signed up for a year. There’s a nice little bonus that came with it that I’m really enjoying.
TL;DR: nobody logs anything because PR, that’s why!
Bullshit. Use some common sense. They all log.
