Price Increase for Existing Customers, New Customers Can Pay Old Price

I’ve had ExpressVPN for several years now and every year I get charged $99.95 for the annual subscription. Knowing how some companies like to increase their prices, I had set up a Virtual Credit Card that limited the annual charge to $99.95 to be used just at ExpressVPN. Today, I got a message saying they tried to charge me $116.95 and that the transaction was declined because it was over the limit I had set.

I chatted with their customer service and told them I didn’t want to keep the service if it was going to be more than $99.95 annually. They told me they’d do a one-time refund of $17 to get my price to the $99.95, but I had to allow my card to be charged the $116.95. Not knowing how long the refund would take and not really wanting to deal with this same issue next year I asked why they couldn’t just charge me $99.95 instead of the process of charging $116.95 and refunding me $17. They said they couldn’t do that and that they’d process my account cancellation.

Immediately after the cancellation, I went back on their website, where I was able to sign up for an annual payment of $99.95 with the same email I’d been using. WTF ExpressVPN?

ExpressVPN has worse practices, such as stopping paid services during your subscription period

NO OpenVPN service and support for streaming

According to ExpressVPN support they don’t support any more USA streaming using a router and OpenVPN protocol.

I already got a new VPN service with SurfShark !

Been a customer for about 3 years now. Definitely not renewing again. Was pretty good at first, but now they’ve become a joke.

They charged me on May 3rd, and then this past Friday I got an email saying that My payment agreement was canceled with PayPal because lack of payment.

I’m currently fighting with them and I don’t have a VPN at the moment
