anyone else having connecting issues since the new update? I can’t even get my vpn to connect to any country at all. It’s just stuck on connecting. I’ve had the vpn for years now and it auto starts with my system and haven’t had problems until today.
I’m staying on 3.3.1 until it doesn’t work.
Not just a Windows problem. OMG sooooooo thankful I stumbled on this thread. It’s been driving me insane this last week as the shortest pings show any other country except the US. Soooooo different, and something had def. changed I just didn’t make the connection until now. I’m on Mac M1 Sonoma 14.4.1. guess it’s time to downgrade. 'o(
Running 3.5.7 and it runs fine for me
3.5.5 desktop for me, all good.
Hi, sorry about that. Ill take a look at it for you.
Can u send debug logs?
- settings > help > toggle off/on debug logging
- Reproduce the issue
- settings > help > submit debug log
- reply to this with the 5 digit debug log code
I have been trying to get them to send my email with username and password for over 2 weeks. They don’t answer when I texted customer service.
I had similar issue on my PC, maybe not exactly 100%, but what I did was the following:
The issue seems to be that the pia-daemon (call pia-service on Windows) is not running.
What you can try to do is:
- go into Services (win+r then type services.msc)
- check if you have a `Private Internet Access Service` entry and what’s its status.
- If it’s not running, try to start it. See if that fixes your issue.
- If it’s running, then click Stop, and then click on Start again.
Hopefully this will fix your issue.
It’s been very slow for the past 2 days, but servers have always been slow. Moved over to express VPN this morning even though I still have a year left on my pia subscription.
I don’t know if anyone’s still watching this thread, but after 16 days since I posted and fixed it by completely reinstalling, I’m having the issue again. “We couldn’t establish the connection to the VPN server” for every server I try
You customers need to wake up, service is gone shit and prices gone up. Cheers.
Very smart, I shouldn’t have updated. It was perfectly fine before that.
PIA 3.5 and newer are not good for me either. Cannot open or get on the Internet. I have 3.3.1 running on my computers and they are fine. I just installed OCLP Sonoma 14.4.1 on my mid 2012 MBP and PIA 3.5.7 will not open properly and I think it was using a lot of CPU bandwidth (100% with each CPU core). It appears 3.3.1 stopped that.
Afyer I just uploaded the new beta version, my system will not connect. I’ve used PIA for years with no issues at all. Last night as soon as I updated to the new beta version it stopped connecting
Let’s be real: you’re getting help in a reddit forum from pia, and THAT is service gone to shit? Yall crazy
Nothing has worked the same since.
I won’t even install them until I absolutely have to. The 3.4 beta screwed my computer up so bad I had to reinstall Windows. I will probably test any upgrade in a VM before attempting it on my main machine.
Hi! Sorry for any inconvenience. Would you be able to generate a debug log?
- settings > help > toggle off/on debug logging
- Reproduce the issue
- settings > help > submit debug log
- reply to this with the 5 digit debug log
Thanks!
I ended up uninstalling, removing the PIA adapter, and reinstalling it. Works now
I wonder if anyone from PIA monitors these discussions. It seems everytime they introduce s “fix” things get worse. My subscription expires in January 2025. Let’s hope it’s solved by then.
