NordVPN login issues fixed - finally! Here's how

OK if you have been suffering with the horrific login issues then here is how I fixed mine. This is on android and chrome os that this will work for - both using the android app, but I Suspect it would work on iOS and windows as well as they are using the same link to the web login.

First, I couldn’t get to nordvpn.com to even attempt to login and I discovered that my ISP (Sky UK) blocks nord by default. To get around this I had to login to the Sky mobile app and go to broadband setting and allow the following urls (by tracing what it was trying to do):

nordvpn.com

nordaccount.com

my.nordaccount.com

and for good measure

support.nordvpn.com

That got the login link to go to the nordvpn site however it wasn’t prompting me to login as it was going to the download page in chrome. I then installed Brave Browser which got the correct login page to popup but it would time out.

More tracing later and it seems it was trying to use another url for the login, so back to the broadband webapp settings and I finally enabled this:

nord-apps.com

Hey presto - my Nord account logins and works like it did before.

Hope this helps others with the same problems. Check your ISP settings and see if you can do the same.

Good luck!

you could just turn off the sky ‘family control’ software, or set it to something appropriate like ‘allow all’. :man_shrugging:t4::clinking_glasses:

Thank you for posting this. Life saver! Just got broadband with Sky and couldn’t connect but this saved the day! Cheers!

Yeah, my ISP seems to be misbehaving with the main nordvpn.com and main (associated) sites, while the alternate links works.
BUT

The Android app won’t log in, not on my phone nor on my TV.
So, any ideas how to work around this block?

Don’t forget the authentication redirect to this domain: auth.zwyr157wwiu6eior.com

Does it not concern anyone that these very unusual domains and URL’s are being used, when the nordvpn website explicitly says “The core part of NordVPN’s webpage URL will always be https://nordvpn.com/.”.

I’ve unsubscribed.

Just had this issue a year in the future and figured I’d chime in for anyone else googling this like i did. Try setting Microsoft Edge as your default browser and then log in. Spent an hour with support sending logs, resetting, and doing a bunch of cmd commands and using Microsoft Edge of all things is what worked. who would have figured

Got 2 young boys so no can do until they get a bit older. Already caught them trying to watch porn which isn’t the best for an 11 year old.
