Needed help setting up VPN for p2p

Hello I followed the tutorial on the site but it didn’t work for me. So ive just been using quick connect to p2p server and downloading torrents with that but the thing is it stops downloading after just 1 torrent is finished. I’m using qbitorrent

I use qBittorrent and NordVPN with no issues.

First thing is to go into the ‘Advanced’ settings of qBittorrent and set the “Network Interface (requires restart)” to only use the TAP connection that is NordVPN. This will make sure qBittorrent only uses NordVPN and won’t leak torrents if NordVPN goes down.

Second, go ‘Connections’ and Uncheck the first check box “Use UPnP / NAT PMP port forwarding from the router”. I also check the second box to use a different port on each startup.

Apply those settings by clicking OK. Then exit and restart qBittorrent.

On NordVPN, I pick Romania and Switzerland under the PTP Country selection. If it doesn’t connect, try picking specific servers under each country on the PTP selector.

I consistently connect and download.

If you really want to get fancy, under “change your network connections” , “Change adapter ootions’, find the connection with the third line that says 'Tap-NordVPN Windows Adapter”, right click the connection and rename it. I named mine NordVPN. This helps you find it easier when you are setting qBittorrent to use it only.

Good luck.

You need AirVPN and forward your ports. Nord doesn’t have this option

Hello I just reinstalled qbitorrent and going through you answer. on the network interface it doesnt have nordvpn as a selection only ethernet 1&2, local area connection wifi and loopback which one do i pick from these? since i use wifi do i pick that one?

Why would this be down-voted when “Nord” doesn’t allow you to forward ports. Yea dopes. Change VPN. Retards

When you install NordVPN, it should have created another connection that says “tap” and “nord” in one of the three lines. If you don’t, then you need to reinstall it on your windows device.

When you use a VPN, it will use the Tap connection with your your Wi-Fi connection. Their should be a connection that says Tap in it.

What if you dont want to install NordVPN on you pc and only want to configure NordVPN on the connection panel within qBittorent? using the Socks5 proxy. then there is no option to select a tap network under the network interface?

If you don’t want to install the NordVPN application, I cannot help you as I am not that technical on Socks 5.

I use the client as the client uses open VPN and is more secure and hides my data better than Socks 5. I think a potentially slightly slower connection is worth the extra security and peace of mind for me.

Edit: if not using the client, there is no Tap connection to select.
