I know I can move my default search to something like duckduckgo, but is there any other solutions to the captcha issue? Ive heard the browser extensions are nominal at best unless anyone has a better experience with them
I normally default to the audio captcha as its seems to be much faster, however, 80% of the time i get a message they can authenticate me right now.
Get used to it. These days, personal privacy will. be. punished. Period. Beat this, they’ll find another way. Beat that, and they’ll find a new one. You CAN browse privately but they’ll make it as high-effort as possible, which will keep our numbers minimal.
where are the captchas>?
replace google with another search engine.
also i remember there are ways you can preauthenticate yourself and not get captchas…through some extension or service>?
Well it’s either your IP due to VPN or your browser.
Try using an add-on like User Agent Switcher and switch to a common user agent such as the latest version of Chrome. This is in case your Firefox fork has some unusual user agent that trips some algorithms.
Captchas are not a meant to be a deterrent to privacy.
Think of it this way.
Imagine, hypothetically, that a bus is the primary mode of transportation for shoplifters. When the bus pulls up at the shop, the shop keep is going to be very suspicious of everyone on the bus, because they know, people trying to do nefarious things travel by bus.
When I use the default, Google search, in the URL bar, i get redirected to a captcha first.
That’s a good reason to give me A captcha, not a reason to give me 47 in a row (I counted last week before giving up and turning off the VPN to pass the captcha). That’s Google punishing VPN use.
when you type in the search bar, see if you can change your search engine, or use a keyword to activate another search engine.
for duckduckgo, you can set the shortcut as DDG for example …
I don’t believe for a second you got 47 unless you were getting them wrong.
Most I’ve ever had is 4.
Plus, what does google get out of punishing you for VPN usage? They already have a bunch of other ways to identify you.
Believe me or not, it is so. And the only thing remotely unusual about that was that I kept going so long out of curiosity before turning off the VPN. Every time I have to deal with captcha, it just keeps giving me more and more until I turn off the VPN.
