Kroger Wifi Privacy

Hello, I just started working at Kroger but I am wondering if I should use the free wifi. Can any manager just snoop through my browsing history??

Always assume you’re being watched on any public wifi. Use a VPN

No one at the store level, not even managers, have access to the network routers so no they can’t see you. But it is still a public guest Wi-Fi so still take precautions as you would with any other public Wi-Fi

Avoid public Wi-Fi whenever possible…it’s just good cybersecurity hygiene.

Ours NEVER fucking works so I have no idea.

Our WiFi blocks connections to certain sites…like this one. Probably because of this subreddit. It also blocks (or did at least, haven’t tried lately) the UFCW site, something they seemed oddly unconcerned about.

As others have said, use a VPN.

The wifi in my store is horrendous and sketchy as it is so I’d just avoid it altogether

Lul wanna share to the class?…

Anyone who has the cyber security knowledge to hack your device while on public wifi probably isn’t going to be a manager at a grocery store. That being said, if you must use public wifi, get a vpn.

Everything is mostly blocked anyway. Funny thing is that if I’m on Kroger Wi-Fi it will not allow me to go on my time :man_facepalming:

Get a VPN. There are some free ones such as proton, though speeds wont be as good as paid versions.

VPN will allow you to browse securely and privately. But i would recommend this for any free public wifi.

Risk isn’t likely the managers but more or less bad actors that can snoop open public networks and steal information

IT can look at your browsing habits. Get a VPN service, and they won’t.

The wifi sucks anyway.

Anyone with any cybersecurity knowledge can do that. If you have to use it, use a VPN, but I’d say don’t use it at all.

I had to show manager how to block someone on Facebook, they don’t have the ability and even if they did they have no idea how

I don’t use it because it’s slow and they block reddit and probably some other stuff too. My Data is usually better anyways

So many paranoid people lol no your manager isn’t a highly trained network administrator capable of spying on you over an unsecured internet connection smh don’t worry about that bs. Just don’t use your credit card or login to banking accounts from those types of connections and you’ll be fine.

I’d be more worried about someone in the store. The management don’t care enough and likely aren’t skilled enough. Gotta take care on a public network though.

Also, anyone can view your search history legally if they buy your information from the ISP.

No, managers nor the Kroger Technology group don’t have the ability to see browser history on your personal device. However with any public WiFi, since they are wide open they are extra susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks, traffic sniffing, etc. so you should utilize a VPN service on your device for an added layer of protection.

A manager barely has the intelligence to not micturate on themselves…

Your midget giraffe pron is safe…
