Preferably I need a button (widget?) in quick panel that will turn off VPN
Most of the popular VPNs provide quick settings tile to turn on/off the VPN. If yours doesn’t provide it then you can use any automation app to create a button for it. Honestly, just use a better VPN app.
Wireguard adds a quick toggle. Does your VPN provider allow you to export a wireguard profile?
Yeah I mean like in iPhone you can just turn it off in settings
With open VPN I need to find protocols etc and I know that free ones are banned in my country and I literally cant pay for paid ones
I just need to be able to turn the VPN off
Thats the problem, pal
All the popular ones are blocked in my country and thats what ive been trying to do - find some sort of automation
Ive found Tasker (for automation) - but it doesnt seem to have a “turn vpn off” option. And this whole situtaion reeeealy messes with me, like, how tf android doesnt have such a simple button.
The best solution i have - using duckduckgo browser app. I can turn on it’s anti tracking option and because it uses a local vpn, it disables everything else
Unfortunately it doesnt
1.1.1.1
Proton VPN
Windscribe
Are all of them blocked?
Why would what matter? I dont get what *youre* saying
Its like if i asked “how to turn mobile data off” and you’d say “what your carrier? t mobile?”
Okay, ill play: “VPN Proxy Speed - Super VPN” and “NotVPN - Unlimited VPN”
Mobile data is system function provided by the os. Your VPN is a 3rd party app. So yeah, it matters which one it is because some might have the widget or notification panel toggle you want whereas some don’t.
You come on this sub to ask for help, and when people try to help you, you behave like a 5 year old ahole. Grow up.
I dont behave like ahole (or better to say, im not trying to be an ahole), im just direct. Im asking for a specific thing, and pretty much all of the quiestions across 4 subs gave me no answer to that specific thing
Sorry if i sound like an ahole, it is because im very very frustrated with fucking android. Its made by people who dont use it.
Of course it is a system function. It can be provided by 3rd party app, but it is a system function. If it wasnt, a VPN app wouldnt ask for a permission for adding a vpn profile, would it? (edit - and if it is a system fucntion - why wouldnt they add the off button?)
Why does ios (iphones and ipads) have this “not system function” in it’s system settings app with an “on/off” switch?
Even windows has this! Windows!!
I get it, people want to help and answer with info they have, even if it doesnt really answer anything. Its just they dont help me because ive already researched everything i could google and my last resort is to ask someone - maybe they know more than more. Almost every time it is a wrong assumption but i probably wont stop asking
You tried to help OP and OP responds to you like a stubborn toddler. Sorry.
Thank you
But that’s my problem
I thought that the system setting existed and there were maybe some app that would manipulate this setting. The closest one I found is "VPN shortcut " which opens a system setting window with all the VPN profiles and if you tap on the active one - it will disconnect.
Sorry again for my behavior, I’m trying to change the way I argue and its hard
You are indeed behaving like an ahole. The person you responded to with rude snark is trying to help you.
Why does ios (iphones and ipads) have this “not system function” in it’s system settings app with an “on/off” switch?
The answer to your question is right there. Even the average “I’m not very good at tech” person would have figured it out. But because you’ve already dug into your know-it-all rudeness, you’re too proud to admit/see it. I hope you use that attitude in every aspect of your life. It will take you far.
I figured out the solution to your problem. It took me a sec because I never use VPNs on my phone. But since your almighty brain is better that all of us combined, figure it out on your own, you “direct ahole.”
I’m sorry , I didn’t mean to offend
It’s how I argue with people, I try to bring out absurdity in their points
The thing is, I always make this impression on people (a know it all who made their mind even before the argument and just wants to argue with people), but what I want to do is to actually show people that they are mistaken and if someone points out that im wrong - I gladly accept that
I genuinely dont know what youre talking about
Please help me
