Is it a good idea to login into Gmail, Facebook and Reddit using a VPN?

On Reddit, I’ve heard stories of users being shadow banned for using a VPN to login and post on Reddit.

So, is it a good idea to login into my Gmail and Facebook accounts using a VPN? Or will Google and Facebook have a hissy fit over it and ban me just like Reddit.

I’ve never had issues with any of these services from using a VPN.

Just don’t expect it to prevent them seeing what your account does

Nope, shouldn’t be the case. In some situations you might need to fill some more captchas but that’s it.

With Reddit - does not ban VPNs, Facebook - I think you can login to your account but I think it blocks a creation of the account with a VPN (to avoid fake accs I guess)

For Reddit I’m using “DuckDuckGo” with App Tracking Protection. In last 50 min. it blocked around 7500 tracking attempts from different companies “within” Reddit app…

No,why connect with vpn? cant be anonim with login account

I use a vpn on reddit and it does block you if you don’t have an account but otherwise ive had no issues

Google Play store won’t let me use my credit for payment as it thinks I am not in the USA, even with the VPN turned off and with it charging me in USD. I’m sure it is VPN related.

First question is why?

What do you think you are gaining by using a VPN to connect to these sites, if you are just going to log in using the same accounts you use any other time on any other connection?

I never had issues with using social media and VPNs

I use Facebook and GMail and old-reddit and a VPN and haven’t gotten banned.

yes it’s true on reddit at least

I checked to see if my comments were visible on a friends account and they weren’t, because I was using tor browser I’m assuming (which is similar to a vpn)

switched to firefox and lo’and’behold, it works…
